Dorian/Sono Luminus released Dave Brubeck’s Sacred Choral Works: Songs of Praise in 2010. It presents sacred music performed by Pacific Edge Voices — then Pacific Mozart Ensemble (PME) — and Quartet San Francisco. It includes the large work Canticles, Credo composed by Dave for PME’s 25th anniversary, and Brubeck’s setting of a Benediction, which he wrote in 2009 for the Pacific Mozart Ensemble.
In 2005, conductor Kent Nagano invited PEV to travel to Berlin to perform and record Leonard Bernstein’s legendary MASS with Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester and renowned tenor Jerry Hadley. The resulting recording from Harmonia Mundi received a 2006 Grammy nomination for Best Choral Performance.
