Woods
Justin Vernon, arr. Kerry Marsh

This video had its premiere at PEV's Annual Jazz & Pop Concert and End-of-Season Celebration virtual event on June 13, 2021. This luminous Kerry Marsh arrangement of Justin Vernon (Bon Iver)'s haunting tune captured for us the longing and inner peace that came from our own connections to music, nature and time through a year like no other. Video by Bob Whitehill; audio mix by Bryan Matheson/Skyline Studios, Oakland. Performance by PEV, with solos by Renee Oakes, Katie Craddock, Polly Ikonen and Kim Keeton.

The Hymn of Acxiom
Vienna Teng, arr. Henrik Dahlgren

This video had its premiere at PEV’s The Great Event concert on March 21, 2021. The concert was inspired by Leonard Cohen’s remarkable work. Vienna Teng’s song “Hymn of Acxiom” illuminates our complex relationship to technology, which has been heightened during the COVID pandemic. Video by Bob Whitehill; audio mix by Bryan Matheson of Skyline Studios.

If Music Be the Food of Love

In 2017, PEV launched an open Call for Scores, which resulted in our discovering a wonderful young composer in Louisiana. In spring 2018, PEV presented the West Coast premiere of this gorgeous piece. Subsequently, PEV premiered Tran’s Mass in E in December 2018.

The Battle of Jericho

It presents sacred music performed by Pacific Edge Voices — then Pacific Mozart Ensemble (PME) — and Quartet San Francisco. It includes the large work  CanticlesCredo composed by Dave for PME’s 25th anniversary, and Brubeck’s setting of a Benediction, which he wrote in 2009 for the Pacific Mozart Ensemble.
